This has been one of the craziest summers in the history of the store! Our town experienced a bigger and better Cherry Festival, the Traverse City Film Festival always outdoes its self, and summer has lasted into October. The things myself and the crew accomplished were even more amazing, and have made us realize that once again we are better prepared for any framing project. Since we haven’t posted in a while, We thought maybe we would share some of our projects with you to give you a better perspective on what we do.
We started the season by working of a cute motel just south of Suttons Bay, MI. Formerly Known as the Red Lion Motel, it is under new management and been renamed M22 Inn. Just as the name implies, it really is a very quaint and perfect location for your stay in Leelanau County. The new owners, David and Theresa Gersenson, have plenty of hospitality experience gathered from his B&B locations just a few miles away in Glen Arbor, MI.
The motel’s charm is reminiscent of the 50’s, when we would head up north to visit our grandparent on Lake Michigan. All the modern things a hotel room should have, of course, but an air of old comfort. The rooms make you want to slip off your shoes, and head to the beach to collect Petoskey Stones. The artwork helps launch you into that same feeling. Using images indicative to Northern Michigan, we used soft butter-cream mats with simple frames with light texture. These images work nicely onto a back-drop of knotty pine, over-stuffed furniture, and fluffy comforters.
When you are visiting Leelanau County for your next adventure, stop in and check the place out; you’re in Michigan’s “Wine Country“, so enjoy yourself with a great place to stay
