On the latest quest to find images for a downtown project, I stumbled upon the best kept secret: The Traverse City Heritage Center.
The facility has thousands of images of our city, as well as the surrounding areas, from the mid- 1800’s to the 1970’s. Buildings, Festivals, Orchards, and Businesses are all well documented, and they’re housed over on 6th street in the historic Central Neighborhood. With a great staff to assist you, you may pick any image and have it reproduced for a very small sum, and support our town secret. Bring your image in for framing, and McMillen’s will be more than happy to donate 15% of your framing costs back to the Heritage Center.
Take a moment, and check them out! Maybe you’ll find grandma’s house….
