McMillen’s Finds a Permanent Home

After 32 years on Front Street in Traverse City, McMillen’s Custom Framing has a found a new and permanent home downtown. This opportunity is the latest revolution in the ever-changing cycle of retail and service. Thanks to you, our true friends and customers, we’re getting a leg up to stay strong in the years to come.

Our new location at 322 S. Union in the former City Bike Shop offers more space to extend our services and selection, plus primo parking for cars and bikes: more and better on-street options, plus a dedicated lot behind the store for quick and easy access.

My crew and I are busily preparing the new space for its official opening day on October 1st.  Inspired by the old world feel of Old Town Neighborhood, and by the incredible architectural elements of our new home and its 14 foot ceilings and bright light, we’re thinking outside the box and dreaming big as we imagine new possibilities in framing and design.

In our new home, we’ll continue our strong calligraphy, engraving, and restorative artist services. We’re also expanding into mirror work, large format framing, and custom printing. We’re bringing the whole gang with us, from house artist Jim DeWildt to Traverse City’s hometown guy Charles Murphy, and we’re looking forward to partnerships with Crooked Tree Arts Center, our new neighbors around the corner. We’ll continue to be a big presence during downtown Art Walks—we aim to have our Grand Re-Opening Event coincide with the spring 2020 art walk.

Shopping online isn’t the only option these days. When you walk into our new space, you will see that everything you need is right here in Traverse City. We love showing people the unlimited possibilities in today’s picture framing. Creativity begins with imagination.

In the coming weeks, look for updates on our move at McMillen’s Facebook (Like Us!), Instagram and Twitter. We look forward to seeing you in October!

Our New Location Opens October 1st at 322 S. Union, Downtown Traverse City
