My visit to Moynahan’s Gallery in Holland, MI

I’ve been around too long. I’m serious. But I still find the fun in everything, and just this past Saturday, a large job I am doing for Bay Harbor took me to my Holland, MI, to pick up some large supplies. My vendor and I picked one of my favorite places in the state to meet up: Moynihan’s Gallery, owned by my friends, Kate Moynihan, and her husband, Larry Weller.

We’ve known each other so long, we really should lie about it; this particular weekend, they were celebrating 20 years in business. (But I bragged: I’m 26 years!) We met when we were put together as what started out a focus group of Larson-Juhl in the mid-nineties, and from there have been sharing friends and clients every since.

Their gallery space is beautiful, and features home accessories, small case goods, and custom framing. Their artist in residence – Kate -features her work throughout the store. ( some can even be viewed here at McMillen’s). Larry specializes in photography of the area, and is a wiz behind the frame counter. The whole experience is worth the drive, and you will walk away a little bit poorer. (Oh, you’re going to spend!) But you know that saying: “It’s the people that make the difference”? Well, these two are their staff are the main reason Holland is a great place to go next Saturday.

Please visit the Moynihan’s website, and become a fan on Facebook.
